3 Qualities Of A Retweetable Tweet

One of the keys to success on ” rel=”tag”>twitter is getting your tweets retweeted by your followers. Some people post links all day every day, but never see those “RT” in front of their posts in someone else’s stream. Why? The short answer is that they probably aren’t writing good tweets to begin with.

Write a solid headline or lead in that will tell potential readers what they will gain by clicking through. Provide them with a benefit or solid fact in your headline and they will be interested to read more.

Leave space to share your tweet. People don’t like to have to edit tweets to be able to retweet your links. Give them enough leftover space to give you credit for the link when sharing it in their stream.

Be sure that the information at the end of the link follows through on your promise. A good headline might get click-throughs, but if the meat isn’t there when followers visit, they certainly aren’t going to share with others.

If all else fails, ask for retweets and be polite about it. If you have a with your followers, many will retweet you, at your request. Just don’t take advantage.
